Society for Clay Pipe Research - SCPR

The Society for Clay Pipe Research (SCPR) was formed in the United Kingdom in 1983. The aim of the society was to further enhance the study of clay tobacco pipes and their makers. The principal aims of the Society are to promote academic research into the history and archaeology of clay pipes and to encourage the exchange of news and information between researchers from around the World. Membership of the Society is open to anyone with an interest in the subject and includes archaeologists, historians and genealogists with a professional interest as well as libraries, collectors and ordinary people with a general interest in pipes.

For further information on the Society, and details of the very reasonable subscription rates, follow the link to http://www.dawnmist.demon.co.uk/scprjoin.htm where an application form can be downloaded.
